I'm at CRCI'll let yall google CRC for information on what it is. I spent a week at home and at Padre Island finishing up administrative details for work. I really like the Quicken Legal program I picked up from www.nolo.com. It rocks. It helped a lot getting a jump on legal documents. Yesterday I flew to El Paso, TX (Ft. Bliss). 0 day was pretty busy actually. Today, day 1, I started this morning at 3:30 a.m. I wanted to get up in time to hit the showers before it got backed up. So far it has been very enjoyable. There was some schedule information on Ft. Bliss's web site on what we do here, but they might have moved it to the secure (AKO) side. It seems they do a fair amount of maintenance on the web site. Training Finished, heading back homeTbe 5 weeks of training was a blur. We covered all of the equipment we are going to see in the field, mostly with hands on with labs. The greater Washington DC area is kinda crazy. Very expensive. Folks there seem to like it ok, but is very different from Texas. I did visit some of the sites in DC which was good to do. I was sad to see they permanently took down the Declaration of Independence document from the collection at the National Archives building. The Library of Congress was my favorite building, in terms of Art and Architecture. It was very well done. This morning I'm leaving Memphis for back to Austin. Kinda of a long drive yesterday from Virginina down to here, 15 hours or so. It's going to be very nice betting back to things that are normal again, at least for a short while. Training in VirginiaI drove from Austin, Texas to Reston Virginia over Saturday and Sunday. 17 hours the first day and 8 the next. I got to meet most of my training squad Sunday night. We've had 2 days, mostly filled with administrative work. The entire first week is actually provisioned to get these details done so next week we can setup training. I should be getting my AKO account tomorrow. By michael at 2006-07-12 05:01 | add new comment

Still getting ready to get out the doorToday, maybe even all the day, is getting things wrapped up for my trip to Virginia for training. I've got anywhere from 27 to 32 hours of driving ahead of me to Virginia depending on if I use MapQuest or Google Maps. I'd like to get on the road as soon as possible, but also need to get things done. We'll see. By michael at 2006-07-07 16:00 | add new comment

Behind the Wire OnlineThis is the first post of my Behind the Wire web site. Today July 6th 2006 is my last day at Convio. Tomorrow I leave for Virginia for training for my new job in the Middle-East. This site is going to start off pretty basic, until I get the feel of the back-end software.
